#22: The Banned List
Customer service jobs are still challenging, but the culture around what is and isn’t tolerated by customers has improved. Today, it’s more common for management to side with employees when a customer acts atrocious and throws around abusive language. According to this poster, Apple is one of those companies that sticks by its employees.
This person shared that they used to work for AppleCare. If a customer was particularly awful, they were allowed to flag their account as “do not assist.” That way, they’d never be able to get help from Apple in-store again, and no employees would have to deal with being verbally abused. If the customer made a scene in-store, they’d be able to call security or the police.
