#34: They Deserve It
People tend to buy a lot at discount stores, and most people don’t always go over the receipt. This store clerk knows that and he’s taking advantage of it. Whenever customers were being rude, he used to over-charge them for small items. The receipt was so long that they wouldn’t bother to check, and they could be overcharged $40.
There are two lessons here: the first one is to always check your receipt. Even if the clerk didn’t mess up your check on purpose, they may have made a mistake. The second, more important lesson, is that it always pays off – quite literally, in this case – to be a kind person.
