#27: You Have a Nice Day
When you work in retail or customer service, sometimes it feels like the whole world is against you. That’s why it’s important to know that your manager has your back and that they will back you up if a rude customer is lashing out at you. When that happens, and you get to put the rude customer in their place, you get to feel victorious for a moment.
For this person, the best part about this kind of situation is when they get to say to the customer, “you have a nice day,” after they didn’t get their way. Retail workers don’t work for you – they work for the company. They don’t owe you anything, and their job is hard enough without bitter customers lashing out at them.
