Luzon Bleeding-Heart
While some birds are massive and superior in size, there are still birds that are minute and adorable. One example is the ground dove, which is North America’s smallest dove and one of the world’s smallest dove in terms of mass. They’re tiny doves with short, round wings, short tails, and short, thin bills. They’re stocky, with short legs, and they shuffle as they walk.
One example of a ground dove is Leila’s next subject in her bird photography. This is the Luzon Bleeding-heart, a member of the species of ground doves that are called “bleeding hearts”. Its name is very evident in its appearance, with a crimson streak in its chest. Don’t worry, this bird is not bleeding. It’s just horrifyingly stunning.
