Fairy Pitta
One of the species of the very vast group of birds is the passerine. A passerine is any bird of the order Passeriformes, which includes more than half of all bird species. Sometimes known as perching birds or songbirds, passerines are distinguished from other orders of birds by the arrangement of their toes, which facilitates perching. Passerines include all the classic songbirds, sparrows, and finches.
A member of the passerine is the fairy pitta, a small and brightly colored species of passerine bird in the family Pittidae. Its diet mainly consists of earthworms, spiders, insects, slugs, and snails. The fairy pitta breeds in East Asia and migrates south to winter in Southeast Asia. This stunning fairy pitta is one of the decreasing populations of pittas in the world.
