Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle
Birds of prey, sometimes known as raptors, are the most feared creatures in the sky. They hunt and eat vertebrates that are huge in comparison to the hunter. One of the most popular birds of prey on the planet is the eagle. With its humongous wingspan and sharp talons, they are sure to strike fear on their preys’ hearts.
This dashing eagle, photographed by Leila, is none other than the Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle. The largest wingspan ever verified for an eagle was for this species. A female killed in Tasmania in 1931 had a wingspan of 284 cm. Now, this is a legit bird of prey. If this doesn’t scare its preys, I don’t know what will.
