Zebra Finch
The true finches belong to the Fringillidae family of passerine birds and are small to medium-sized. Finches possess sturdy conical bills that are specialized for eating seeds and nuts, and their plumage is often brightly colored. They can be found in a wide variety of settings and do not move. Except for Australia and the polar areas, the finches have an almost worldwide distribution.
The zebra finch is the most common estrildid bird in Central Australia, and it can be found across the most of the continent, with the exception of the chilly moist south and some tropical far north locations. Zebra finches have a lively singing style. Their calls can range from a loud beep to a meep to an oi! or a-ha!
