Literal Gold Mine
All the robberies in this article are immoral, but this one might be one of the worst. As is true in other cases, the cooks make off with gigantic sums of money. But what gets me is that those funds could have been given directly to those who need them most. Sometimes, robbers are geniuses, and sometimes, they are just pure evil.
As this story points out, the DRC has serious problems with education access, child mortality, malnutrition, and more. Don’t you wish that the money those criminals made off with went towards helping the needy instead? Hopefully, one day they will be able to recover all of the money lost and invest back into their economy.
