At times, these heists sound so outlandish that they truly belong in the world of cinema. Such was true of D.B. Cooper’s heist, which involved him hijacking a plane, extorting $200,000, and escaping capture via parachute. The story became so famous that to this day, there are D.B. Cooper-themed bars and clubs in the U.S!
Unlike in the movies, there was no equally talented and daring hero to track down Cooper and bring him to justice. Cooper remains unidentified, and there are many theories about what happened to him. As such, it is no surprise that Cooper has been the subject of documentaries, including one that Netflix released just last year.
