#47: The First Time People Were Photographed
In 1838, photographs required a long exposure time in processing, which meant that anything inside the frame was not to move or would disappear from the picture. And while this might seem like a simple enough task, it wasn’t back in the 1800s.
Louis Daguerre, the man who photographed this picture, got a lucky shot when a shoeshiner and his customer stood still long enough for Daguerre’s camera to capture the moment. Making this the first time people were photographed!
