#13: The First Person to Win Two Nobel Prizes
Winning one Nobel Prize is a huge accomplishment in and of itself. But two? Now that’s the definition of over-achieving. Marie Curie holds the honor of being the first person to win two Nobel Prizes. Marie Curie was a pioneer in radioactivity research, so it’s no surprise that she was awarded two Nobels.

Marie Curie achieved plenty of other “firsts” over the course of her career. She was the first woman to win a Nobel and is still the only person who has won Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields. No big deal. Curie’s first Nobel was for her research of radiation phenomena alongside her husband. The second Nobel Prize came less than a decade later for her discovery of radium and polonium.
