The Dark Side of the Moon. Yes, it’s the name of an acclaimed Pink Floyd album, but it also refers to the side of the moon that we never get to see due to how the rotation of both the earth and moon keep that out of our sight permanently.

In a literal manner, there can sometimes be a dark side of the earth, as you see in this photo. How is that happening, you ask? The answer is that it’s a lunar eclipse. The moon is right between the sun and the earth, so the sun casts a giant shadow on the earth, which you can see in the picture!
