Instances When a Second Look Changed What We Thought We Saw

This one is one of our favorite images on the list, and you can probably tell why. Unless you’ve seen a similar picture in the past, this one is entirely impossible to figure out. It looks like someone took a stroll along the beach and managed to pick up shells and other gorgeous things. If that’s what you’re thinking you’re wrong, but not entirely wrong.

Everything you see in this picture was surely picked up on a beach. The only thing is that it pretty much is the beach. That’s sand. Yep! Under as much as 100x magnification, this is what sand reveals itself to be. We love how nothing looks alike here and everything is beautiful in its own special way (a lot like snowflakes!)
