Instances When a Second Look Changed What We Thought We Saw

The photographs we see of the Pyramids of Giza depict three massive monuments of the old world, located in the middle of a desert. That’s what makes for better photos. When you look from the sky, you can see how these monuments aren’t as isolated as we might think.

The city of Cairo is actually extremely close to one of those pyramids. Obviously, over time, as the capital of Egypt continued to grow, the city encroached closer and closer to the pyramids. Whether they will one day surround the pyramids and leave them in their little patch is yet to be seen. We hope not!
