HR to Save the Day
Human resources sometimes feels like a necessary evil in corporations, but they ultimately exist to bridge the gap between corporations and the people that work there. This new hire was brought in as the new human resources partner and immediately had some comments – specifically around discipline and general employee relations.
Unfortunately, the management did not agree that human resources should have any say in discipline – despite the fact that discipline is one thing that HR should completely own. After this interaction, this person took the higher ground and put together a full improvement plan… and then left it on the board along with some printed laws and a resignation letter.
