Blondie vs. Bundy
Deborah Harry, the lead singer of Blondie, recounts a terrifying experience from the 1970s where she accepted a ride in the dead of night from none other than Ted Bundy, and miraculously managed to escape with her life. The singer shared: “I was trying to get across town to an after-hours club. A little white car pulls up, and the guy offers me a ride. So I just continued to try and flag a cab down. But he was very persistent, and he asked me where I was going. It was only a couple of blocks away, and he said, ‘well, I’ll give you a ride’.”
Deborah Harry quickly realized her grave mistake after getting into the VW Beetle. With a sense of urgency, the singer began to slowly roll down her window, trying to remain as inconspicuous as possible. Once her arm was outside, she desperately tried to open the door from the outside. But as soon as the driver noticed her attempts, he tried to make a quick getaway, causing Harry to spin out of the car and land in the middle of the street.
