Beach Boy Manson
The famous heartthrob Dennis Wilson picked up a couple of hitchhiking girls who were part of Charles Manson’s group and ended up partying with them. He was introduced to Manson, who was an aspiring singer/songwriter, and soon found himself helping the cult leader meet music industry bigwigs. Wilson even rewrote one of Manson’s tunes, which the Beach Boys released as a B-side. But things took a dark turn when he witnessed Manson kill a man with an M-16 assault rifle and dump the body down a well.
Terrified, Wilson confided in his cousin and fellow Beach Boy, Mike Love, and desperately tried to distance himself from the Manson Family. But it wasn’t easy, as the cult had taken up residence in Wilson’s own home. In the end, the singer had to abandon his home to shake the Manson Family, a decision that likely saved his life. The murders that would make Manson infamous hadn’t even happened yet, but Wilson knew he had to get as far away as possible from the madness that had taken hold of his life.
