Richard Farley
”Mass murderer Richard Farley regularly parked in front of our house in Sunnyvale, California, while stalking Laura Black, weeks prior to his rampage at defense contractor ESL. On February 16, 1988, Farley drove to ESL with an arsenal of firearms and killed seven people, and injured four, including Black. Laura lived across the street, so Farley parked his car in front of our house in the late afternoon and remained there overnight.”
”He did this regularly for several weeks. We didn’t know he was stalking anybody; he just appeared to be living out of his car. My wife and I were suspicious of his intentions. His car was jammed with dirty laundry, cardboard boxes, and trash. We never spoke to him but made it a point to catch his eye to signal that we were aware of his presence. On one occasion, I reported him to the Sunnyvale Police Department. A cruiser came by and questioned him, but as he wasn’t breaking any laws, they didn’t make him move.”
