Craiglist Psycho
”I once found a piece of furniture I wanted to buy on Craigslist, so I agreed to meet the seller outside of his house to inspect and pick it up. But, when I arrived, the seller was nowhere to be seen. When I rang the doorbell, he answered and invited me inside, telling me that the furniture was in his basement. Without leading me to it, he pointed to the basement door and instructed me to have a look.”
When U approached the door, my subconscious alarm bells began to ring loudly. I noticed that the basement door was locked with a deadbolt, which would leave me trapped in the basement with no means of escape. Despite being a 5’10” man in good shape, I knew I wouldn’t be able to force open a deadbolted door. I thanked the guy for his time, and quickly left the house. This experience served as a reminder to always trust my instincts and to be cautious when dealing with strangers, even in seemingly harmless situations.
