Those Were the Days
This Twitter user brings up an interesting point: No one can argue Netflix isn’t convenient – having the option to watch whatever you want, any time you want, and then re-watch it, again and again, is something we all enjoy very much. However, back in the 90s, going to Blockbuster used to be such a fun experience. It was a Friday night family activity, or a meeting spot for friends. I miss those days so much, I’m actually getting emotional.
Even before the advent of VCRs and DVD players, we had to watch what was on TV, when it was on TV. We were at the mercy of TV network schedules. If you missed the latest episode of your favorite show because, say, you were having a baby, you wouldn’t have another chance to watch it until the network decided to re-air it three years later.
