44. What’s Not to Love?
In the grand scheme of states, Texas often acts like the high school quarterback who never forgot his glory days. Our observer, a self-professed fan of Texas, can’t help but notice that Texans, much like their beloved state, tend to carry themselves with a gravity usually reserved for discussing world peace, not state pride.
This unyielding enthusiasm, while endearing to some, strikes others as taking the Lone Star State a tad too seriously. The comedy here isn’t just in the zealousness of their pitch but in the irony that the very intensity meant to attract can sometimes overwhelm.
