39. Prepare For Culture Shock
Upon setting foot in Dallas, our traveler, a Boston native far from the South’s familiar turf, seems to have encountered an inescapable symphony of country music. But it isn’t just the music that marked new territory; the presence of indigenous-looking folks offered a visual and cultural diversity different from Boston’s own melting pot.
This shift from the expected to the novel presented a double challenge: acclimating to both the omnipresent twang of country tunes and the broader spectrum of faces and cultures. The humor in this scenario lies in the sheer inevitability of these experiences, painting a picture of someone navigating through a Texan immersion program, unprepared but ultimately richer for the encounter.
