Ah, Texas, the state with a rebellious streak as wide as the Rio Grande. Known for its spirited declarations of independence and periodic flirtations with secession, Texas prides itself on a rugged self-sufficiency that’s as much a part of its identity as cowboy boots and BBQ.
Yet, the irony isn’t lost when, at the first sign of trouble—often a direct result of its own maverick policies—this same fiercely independent state is found sending out SOS signals for aid. It’s a comedic contradiction, the equivalent of a teenager declaring they’re moving out, only to call home at the first hint of hunger.
