When flights are delayed, we usually blame the airline. (Well, really, we blame the flight attendants, or at least we get mad at the flight attendants as though we think it’s their fault). After all, blaming the airline seems to make sense, plus they’re an easy target. Who else are you going to blame?

But that’s not necessarily the case. Delays are often things that are outside of the airline’s control. After all, they can’t make there not be bad weather over JFK. Even worse is when it’s the fault of somebody on the flight doing something stupid. So don’t get mad at the poor airline staff. They never did anything to you., certainly not intentionally!
