#22: Give Them a Break
As much as I used to think being a flight attendant sounds cool, I’m not sure I’d actually be very good at it. I would like the travel part, but dealing with irritable passengers sounds pretty unpleasant. Because some people are genuinely awful to cabin crew, aren’t they?
When people are frustrated, there’s a tendency to want to take it out on the nearest person that we feel is to blame. But it’s absolutely ridiculous to get mad at flight attendants for flight delays. Do you see them flying planes? No, that’s pilots. And pilots are bound by what air traffic control lets them do, who are themselves bound by weather and delays and who knows what else, both there and at other airports. So leave the poor flight attendants alone. It has nothing to do with them.
