So here is a rather sobering look at what a gambling addiction looks like. Now, I won’t gamble under pretty much any circumstances, both for religious reasons and because I think that gambling is just the most impractical thing in the world. Most of the time, you might as well go dump your money in a bonfire, because whether it goes in there or into a slot machine, you’re never going to see it again.

But even if I were inclined to gamble, this would make me stop because it makes me worried and sad. It’s sad that this person clearly had the realization, however brief, that they were standing at a crossroads. And they chose the path that caused them to dump even more money on that bonfire.
