#37: When Sales Aren’t a Good Idea
We all like to believe that we have our special ways of saving money, things that we have figured out that are good for our financial health. But if your thing involves taking advantage of sales, you might not be in as good a shape as you think.
Because as this person points out, taking advantage of sales is only useful if you are positive that you are about to purchase that item anyway. But if you get pressured or influenced into buying something that you wouldn’t have otherwise just because the thing is on sale, then you really haven’t saved any money at all. You could have saved even more money by just not buying the thing.
