#39: Let’s Close the Book on Phone Books
Do you remember the olden days when we had to look things up in books? Back before all the world’s knowledge was available to you on a phone that you could fit in the palm of your hand? In those days, the king of all the books was the phone book.
Many is the time I can remember pulling out a phone book to find the phone number and address of a neighbor or local business. So there’s a part of me that still has a sort of nostalgic fondness for books. But for the most part, I am baffled at the massive amount of waste produced each year by printing a bunch of phone books that will immediately go in the trash.
