#29: Aztec Sunstone
This is a case of a mysterious family heirloom. This person posted a photo of this disc-shaped object with traditional carvings on it, saying their grandfather asked them to never remove this from the wall when renovating the house. If it came from your late grandfather, it’s a wish you must respect, even if you’re not particularly fond of this design.
Naturally, this family wanted to know the meaning behind the object hanging on their wall. A Reddit user explained that it was a miniature ancient Aztec Sunstone, an object dedicated to the sun, decorated with hieroglyphs of days, months, and suns. It didn’t function as a calendar but simply symbolized cultural identity.
