26. The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
The most memorable thing about The Devil Wears Prada is Meryl Streep’s performance as Miranda Priestly, the film and novel’s “antagonist.” It is believed Priestly was inspired by Vogue‘s editor Anna Wintour, who the author of the novel, Lauren Weisberger had worked for as an assistant years before.
For fear of angering her, both Hollywood and the fashion industry were wary during production, and many designers were unwilling to have their names associated with it. On the film’s release, however, Wintour had overcome her skepticism and seemed to have enjoyed it.
