#47: A Record Before It’s Pressed
A record is described as hitting the press when it is time to release it to the public. The terminology comes from newspapers, but it applies well to vinyl records, too, especially when you see this photo. What that guy is holding is a vinyl record.
It looks weird, right? Well, that is what a record looks like before it gets pressed. It starts as a blob of vinyl, which gets pressed into its large disc shape and then trimmed to form a perfect circle. So, for the vinyl lovers out there, this is how your favorite medium gets made.
