#49: Are You Nervous?
The human nervous system is a collection of tiny nerves that run from the brain and spinal cord all over the body, all the way to the tips of the fingers. These control not only motion, both voluntary and involuntary, but also our senses, such as feeling, seeing, and even sensing heat and pressure.
You must be wondering how they got the entire nervous system out in a single piece. Well, this task was undertaken by two medical students in 1925, who spent 1500 hours removing this specimen in a single piece. This is absolutely incredible and helps us appreciate the beauty and intricacy of the human body.
