#42: The Inside of a Pearl
Pearls are such a precious thing to own. Unlike precious stones like diamonds and rubies, pearls are biological materials, which makes them even more interesting. We bet very few people have wondered this, but how do pearls look when you split them open? We’re usually busy staring at the beautiful exterior.
This shows us how a pearl is built of layers on layers which gives this concentric circle effect when one of them is cut in two. It reminds us of how jawbreakers look when you manage to get one sliced in two. The beautiful patterns on the inside are just as beautiful as the outside.
