#14: The Full Extent of It
You know those giant elongated heads found on Easter Island, sometimes simply referred to as Easter Island Heads or Moai? You’ve probably seen them in pictures before. They’re just statues of heads planted in the ground. Nothing more to them, right? We’re glad to say that that is incorrect.

Here’s where things get interesting. If you’ve only seen the most common pictures of these statues, chances are you don’t know there’s a lot more to them than their enormous faces. Most of these statues have large torsos that are simply hidden under the ground. We wish we could get to see how these wondrous monuments came to be.
