#23: Childish Curiosity May be Better Than Age-Old Bitterness
“Live every day like it’s your last” is one of those bumper sticker phrases that sounds profound until you really think about it. It’s meant to inject a sense of urgency, a call to seize the day. But in truth, it can nudge us towards a frantic scramble to fill every moment with significance, which isn’t just exhausting, it’s unrealistic.
Living like it’s your first day, though, now that’s a thought. It suggests approaching each day with eyes wide open, ready to learn, to love, to live without the baggage of yesterday. It encourages us to shed our cynicism, to marvel at the world with the fresh wonder of a child, and to engage with life from a place of curiosity and openness.
