#38: The Customer is Most Certainly Not Always Right
“The customer is always right” is a saying that needs a reality check. Sure, the customer is king, but sometimes the king can be a royal pain. If someone’s spewing nonsense or throwing a tantrum over a triple-shot-no-foam-latte, it’s not about kissing the ground they walk on.
Workers aren’t doormats, and a bit of sass can go a long way in keeping your dignity intact. Keep it professional, but don’t be afraid to serve up a side of truth with that customer service smile. Stand your ground—some customers must remember that common sense and courtesy aren’t optional add-ons.
