#15: No More Office Politics, Please
“Play the game” is a phrase often whispered in cubicles and coffee breaks, yet it rarely raises morale or fosters teamwork. It’s the grease for office politics, a game where the rules are murky, and the points hardly matter. Navigating the workplace shouldn’t require a playbook on par with Machiavelli.
A harmonious office requires compromise, but there’s a chasm between compromise and conniving. A toxic environment where underhand tactics trump open communication isn’t just bad for the workers and business. Trust erodes each time “the game” is played, and collective goals slip a little further away.
