#63: High Stakes
Personally, I do not understand the sort of people who go camping alone. I feel like you’re asking for something weird to happen, plus, if you get bitten by a snake or attacked by a bear or you slip while hiking and twist an ankle, you basically just have to sit there and hope that someone comes along it helps you out.

But I digress. I love the detail that the tent stake had been replaced with a little carved tiki. My theory is that there was a hermit living out in the woods who had, over the years, perfected his carving skills. But as a hermit, he had no one to show them off to, so he liked to sneak into people’s camps and plant his carvings there so that the campers would be amazed when they woke up in the morning.
