#14: This Is Why I Don’t Like Camping
When I was a kid, my family camped a lot. On one of these trips, we begged my dad for a scary story, so he made one up for us about a giant black dog terrorizing people. I’m not sure why, but that particular story scared me so badly that I could barely sleep that night, utterly convinced that some beast was going to tear through the side of our camper and eat me.
The point of all of this is to say that if I had the experience that this person had, I would have burst into tears and been immobilized with fear as I relived the trauma from that scary story, and then I would have run as fast as my legs would carry me back to civilization and never gone into the woods again. Camping can be scary, especially when you’re on your own.
