#26: Twinkle Twinkle
Scary stories and horror movies have taught us to think that any visitation from beyond the grave would necessarily be a bad, frightening thing. Why doesn’t Hollywood ever make movies about ghosts that are friendly and just want to stop by and say hi? I mean, of course, they made Casper the Friendly Ghost, but that’s not quite the same thing.
Personally, I love how this writer ended their story: her friend promised, no doubt jokingly, to stick around and haunt the family, so now, when this woman sees the twinkle lights go off, she finds it comforting. Now, that is a ghost story I can really get behind.
