Philosophical Questions
If you have a dog, or you know someone who has a dog, or you’ve seen people walk their dogs on the street before, you must’ve heard the phrase “who’s a good boy?” more than once. It isn’t really a question – it’s a phrase – because our dogs know we mean them. We mean they’re the good boys (or girls).
I hope they realize we’re talking about them, and not actually asking them a question. Why not just say “good boy” if it might be a source of confusion? The last thing we want is to make them question themselves! We want them to know they’re good boys (or girls)!
