#39: Succession
Succession is a modern-day masterclass of epic television writing. Fast pace, witty dialogue, incredible twists. Every family has its issues, but I wouldn’t wish my worst enemies to grow up in the Roy family. Not that I actually have enemies. Do real people actually have enemies?
Moving on, what complimented this brilliant writing was the cinematography. The show has this different and classical look that Adam McKay, the show’s director, created by insisting on shooting the series on 35mm film. Screw digital, he said; I want it to look and feel like old money. And so they did.
