#31: The VHS Camcorder
This piece of technology might be one that isn’t sorely missed. The giant VHS camcorder of the 80s was the ultimate way to record home videos and capture moments of your life forever. It also weighed about six pounds. Obviously, it was really convenient and easy to transport (not). Your family loved you if you carried one of these things around with you at all times.

This 1985 image shows what was once cutting-edge technology. The first VHS camcorders used full-size VHS tapes that you could record on and then pop into your video player at home. It was pretty cool for the time. Thankfully, all the archivists and amateur filmmakers out there now have tiny smartphones that can capture high-quality video with editing tools to boot. We’ve kissed those days of heavy camcorders goodbye.
