Beyond the Grave
If you take a toddler on a walk through a cemetery, be prepared for some creepy commentary. This storyteller works as a nanny and watches a young child who is learning how to talk. For whatever reason, it’s totally normal in their neck of the woods to take a casual stroll through the local cemetery.
Instead of pointing at butterflies and flowers, the little girl would point at the gravestones and say, “Look, people!” Considering this toddler’s afternoon stroll was through a cemetery, can we really blame her? She could have been seeing literal ghosts above the graves, but she also could have been using her limited vocabulary to express the idea of people buried in the ground. Of course, either option is entirely possible.
