#19: Disney’s Dark Side
Many people would argue that some of Disney’s films aren’t appropriate for children, as they have a dark side. We see this in many examples, from Cinderella’s wicked stepmother and stepsisters to the tragic death of Bambi’s mother by the hunter. You can’t argue that some scenes are just hard to watch, even for adults. On the other hand, some people might argue children shouldn’t be shielded from painful truths.

Another example of a dark Disney moment is in Mulan. The popular 1998 film has resonated with many Disney fans worldwide, children and adults alike. It definitely has a dark side to it, but we’re here to talk about one scene in particular: the scene where they arrive at the burned-down village and see the ruins.
