#25: Cartman or Blossom?
South Park is one of the most influential television shows of the past two decades. Since it first aired in the late nineties and to this day, it remains one of the most successful and popular sitcoms, thanks to its dark humor, brutal honesty, and social commentary. Although it’s a cartoon, South Park isn’t really appropriate for children but rather its main audience is adults.
It’s no surprise, then, that many TV shows have made allusions to the series and paid tribute to it over the years. Even the animated children’s series The Powerpuff Girls paid homage to South Park. In one episode, the girls fall into a laundry basket, and Blossom emerges covered in clothes that are identical to Eric Cartman’s outfit.
