#26: Everyday Star Gazing
You don’t need a fancy schmancy telescope to enjoy everything space has to offer. If you own a simple pair of regular binoculars, you can use them to spot four of Jupiter’s moons. If you’re interested, pay attention to when Jupiter will be visible next in your part of the world. You can see the four major Galilean moons with your binoculars!
The four major moons of Jupiter are Io, Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede. It’s pretty cool that you can spot them from your own backyard or balcony with such a simple tool. Next time Jupiter is in town, give it a try and emulate those curious astronomers from centuries past.
