If you’re in a pinch, you can hook the measuring tape onto a nail and measure something by yourself. The nail holds the tape measure so you don’t have to ask someone else to help you out. You can also use this trick to draw a perfect circle. Hook the clip onto a nail and use the metal tab on the end of the ruler to guide your pencil around. Handy people really do have it all figured out.
