#18: What An Offer
Everybody loves free stuff, right? You offer free hot dogs, and people will come to your antique furniture store. You offer free churros, and people will stop and take your survey. You offer a free dinner, and people will listen to your timeshare pitch, even though they have no intention of actually buying into a timeshare.
But still, I can’t imagine anyone is terribly excited to get free rats. Now, a little research tells me that RATs probably stands for “rapid antigen tests.” But they really should have used some punctuation in that case. Maybe this was a clever way to catch people’s attention, but the message only works if people are aware of what RAT stands for, and I don’t think most people are.
