Times People Discovered How Cool Their Parents Are Through Childhood Photos

It’s always a shock to realize that your parent has done something so incredibly unique that you can never possibly compete with that story. Take this photo, for instance. See that man flying through the air off the starboard fin? That’s this person’s father, in the Pacific Ocean in 1983.

There’s no word on what this father and his submarine were doing out in those waters back then, but a quick search pulls up a story of a Soviet submarine that sank in the northern Pacific around that time. We can’t help but wonder if maybe this sub was on its way to offer assistance.
